I guess I bit the bullet so to speak. It's been a little while coming though.
On my web site I've toyed with writing my own content management systems (CMS). The first one was a PERL frankenstein. The next permutation took the form of a hand-rolled PHP thing. Later, I finally made the thing mySQL DB driven. Each time I spent a lot of time on making the back-end and no time working on content. Well, a content driven site has to have content and so I've given up on making the CMS and bought into a pre-made solution. This way I can get to the work of writing instead of coding.
So here I am today, watching
Paranoia Agent and writing the first entry in my new
Serendipity weblog. I plan on writing many more - but we'll just see if that dream comes to fruition.
Anyway, this isn't my first blog using
Serendipity. I also have a character blog for my Final Fantasy XI character
Latcarf. I have been very pleased with it on a whole. I just wish I had a better way to serve this pages. I am currently running Mac OS X 10.2 (Jaguar) on an old Beige G3 (233MHz). The machine works great as a server but it's connected to the internet via Sprint Broadband and they criple their upload speeds. So, I appologize for the speed of my site.
Look for new entries soon. I plan on posting stuff about my work (Software Configuration Management Engineer - SCM on two major Macintosh software apps), Mac OS X, Linux, UNIX, Politics, and whatever else I feel like I have an opinion on.
