A Quicken for Mac update came out the other day. You can get it at
Intuit.com.
This update seems to have a bunch of fixes. If you are using Quicken 2005 for Mac, I recommend getting this update as soon as possible. If you don't use Quicken, I recommend using it as soon as possible. There is no better way I know of to get your finances in order than to use Quicken.
I spend less than five minutes everyday tracking my finances in Quicken - I even track my cash! Just by looking at you financial picture everyday, you'll start to see ways you an save and reduce debt. I am slowly bringing up my net worth and zeroing out my debt completely. Thanks to Quicken, I know where my money is at all times.
Quicken even makes it easier to do financial tricks too. For instance, a friend of mine learned that one of his credit cards was offering a no interest for one year deal. He had a large credit line on the account (like $20,000 or so) and he decided to use a cash advance to get at it all. He took the money and placed it in his
ING savings account which is earning 2.25% right now. He is paying the credit card's minimum payment out of pocket, when the one year period is up, he will remove the funds from the savings account and pay the card off in full.
Assuming a minimum payment of $20, after all is said and done he's saved $240 (12 minimum payment he made) and profited $450 ($37.50 a month in interest for 12 months). Not bad considering he did nothing more than just shuffle money around. And he used Quicken to track it all and make the automatic payments on the credit card.
This example isn't super financial savvy or anything, it is just a down in the dirt smart way to manage money - made easier by the user of financial software.
So go get Quicken 2005 for Mac update or if you don't have Quicken for Mac, go get it! (Quicken for Windows is ok too - if you have to subject yourself to Windows

)
